Get Married in Space

It’s probably not possible to get married in space unless you’re both astronauts who are going on a mission together. However, there is a company that is offering couples the opportunity to tie the knot while looking down on Earth. The waitlist is light-years long.

The new service, called Space Perspective, will take you on a flight to the edge of space where you can see the planet below you through enormous windows. They promise that the experience will be exhilarating and celebratory but also offer plenty of time for quiet contemplation and reflection. Astronauts have described seeing the Earth from space as a life-changing event that changes their outlook.

A space wedding will cost you about $125,000 per person. It’s not cheap but it might be the most unique wedding you can have.

It will take you about an hour to reach the edge of space. The flight will leave from a private launch pad in Florida and is designed to be safe for all passengers. You’ll be surrounded by a team of experienced professionals and will have the option to bring one or two guests with you.

You’ll fly at a gentle pace of about 12 mph. The Neptune spacecraft is propelled by renewable hydrogen rather than a rocket so you won’t feel like you are being blasted into orbit. Depending on the season, you may be able to see the Aurora Borealis or other celestial phenomenon from the spacecraft.

The spacecraft will have a full suite of cameras to capture your wedding day from every angle. The company says it will also have a video conference call facility so that your friends and family can join in on the fun. You can even share the event on social media with a special hashtag.

If you are interested in a space wedding, you can find more information on the company’s website. You can also sign up for their mailing list and be the first to hear more about the space wedding experience. Before you go ahead and sign up, you might want to sit down with your partner and discuss what your priorities are for your big day. Is it important to have stunning photos? Do you want to treat your guests to a fabulous meal? Make sure your priority list aligns with the venue you choose.

There are lots of amazing places to hold a wedding, from a rustic barn bash to a destination wedding on top of a mountain. But if you really want to create something that will stand out, it’s worth taking the risk to use a raw space as your one-of-a-kind wedding venue. Just make sure to hire a professional so that you don’t put yourself in any danger.
